why is everything about ai now?
I’m sitting here, just minding my own business, when a thought pops into my head: Why is AI the answer to everything now? It’s like everyone and their grandma thinks they can just sit back and let AI do the heavy lifting, especially when it comes to making money in 2026 with zero effort. Call me skeptical, but is it really that simple?

Funny, right? Thinking back just a few years, everyone was scrambling to learn how to code (remember those wannabe hackers with their coffee-stained laptops pretending to understand algorithms?). And now we’re at a point where we argue about the laziest ways to rake in cash with AI. It’s no longer about developing new software or spending hours debugging code. No, now it’s about having a bot do the work you don’t want to do.
Like, there’s this app I saw where people get paid to basically watch their AI manage customer complaints on autopilot. Imagine that. People used to hate that kind of work, and now they’re just passing it off to the AI. I’ll bet half of them are using that time to scroll cat memes. (Seriously, I would too!) In essence, AI is kind of like this magical employee that doesn’t demand its paycheck right away or contest your playlist choices during work hours.

Don’t get me started on AI art. Folks are literally selling AI-generated blobs on the internet, claiming it’s ‘modern expressive art’, and someone somewhere surprisingly pays for it. And here I am, barely managing features on my phone without getting frustrated (honestly, why does Face ID still not see me with glasses on?).
Then there’s this whole passive income thing. I just have to say it: passive income with AI feels like the unicorn everyone’s chasing. Sounds pretty. Looks fun. But try catching it, right? Selling things you didn’t even make, automating stuff you probably didn’t design—there’s a surreal charm to it, but also a sense of detachment. Like telling a robot to play your life’s soundtrack while you’re just a spectator.
However, what cracks me up is when everybody suddenly becomes a ‘thought leader’ in these AI monetization schemes, popping up with guides and blogs as if they’d cracked some cosmic code. What were these folks up to, say, in 2020? Because it sure wasn’t automating gourmet coffee tasting experiences (though, that’d be a sight to see).
Oh well, maybe it’s just my cynicism creeping in. Perhaps by 2026, this ‘lazy’ way of making money will become tomorrow’s version of ‘earn it hard’. My eyes still hurt. I need coffee. Ugh.
