tax efficiency? more like tax insanity.

Why is everyone so obsessed with tax efficiency like it’s some kind of magical unicorn? Seriously, using Roth IRAs and 401ks like they’re the answer to life’s problems is just delusional. Oh sure, let’s lock our money away in these mystical accounts where the almighty compound interest supposedly works its magic tax-free. It’s like expecting a garden gnome to fix your car. It’s not what you make, it’s what you keep, they say. Whatever happened to enjoying what you make before playing this convoluted keep-away game?

And while we’re at it, why haven’t the geniuses who create these tax laws considered that maybe, just maybe, simplifying things would be nice instead of forcing us to decode the Da Vinci Code every year when tax season rolls around. But wait, they say. All these fancy accounts are great because compounding needs time. Well duh! How about something more straightforward where we don’t have to navigate through cryptic IRS instructions that sound like they were written by an alien life form?
