reading my way to that billionaire club… or not

I just stumbled upon another “get rich quick” promise, this time wrapped in the guise of a book. And trust me, these books are wild. Like, have you seen the titles? There’s one literally called “Think and Grow Rich,” which, I guess, implies you can just think your way into a mansion with a heated swimming pool. What’s next, “Nap and Become a Millionaire”?

A seasoned cynic like me can’t just resist a good book, especially one that promises to fill my bank account at the speed of light. I mean, diving into that world felt like ripping off the cover of a trashy tabloid promising alien news or whatever. Oh, and there’s this one list on dropshipping that’s supposed to be the holy grail of making money. I can’t even… Dropshipping feels like what those so-called influencers do to fund their avocado toast habits.

And can we talk for a moment about the sheer absurdity of some of these chapters? They’re like those self-help workshops where someone keeps telling you to imagine a pile of cash every morning. Okay, so let me just imagine that new Netflix subscription won’t make me broke this month. Sure, books like these sometimes have nuggets of wisdom, but who’s got time to pan for gold in a river of ridiculous optimism? (Spoiler: not me.)

It’s funny—I always imagined getting rich as a kid involved, I dunno, a secret map or something, a la Nicholas Cage in National Treasure. But no. Now it’s like, “Read this and get a Lamborghini.” And here I am, wondering if they give you a Lamborghini model kit or something. You see, wealth-building is like a chaotic blend of Monopoly tactics and random fortune cookie advice.

Life’s too short to read every guidebook. But hey, who knows? Maybe one day the library will be my treasure vault. Until then, my eyes still hurt. I need coffee. Ugh.
